Elena Efeoglou born in 1978, in Drama, Greece. She is a visual artist and photographer based in Greece. She studied Painting in School of Fine Arts, Faculty of Visual and Applied Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and she has an MFA in Photography at the University of Belgrade, Serbia. She also has certifications to Museum Education from the Museum of Modern Art, NY and to Victorian Photography from the University of Edinburgh. She participates in exhibitions, conferences and residencies in Greece and abroad. Her artistic interests are in the fields of social photography, architectural photography and memory. She is a PhD Candidate at the University of Western Macedonia, Greece and scientific collaborator in Photography Workshop in Department of Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Western Macedonia, Greece. Her research interests are in the field of social and historical photography and visual culture with a specific interest in the ways in which visual material shape individual and collective memory.
